A Simple Piece of Advice about LED Lights

During a meeting with local electricians, we ran across LED lighting fixtures that had recently been decommissioned due to major failures.  Upon close examination of the fixture it was apparent as to why the lights had failed.

Take a look for yourself.

Two obvious issues are the addition of a cooling fan and the visible corrosion.

In this case we can deduce that the fan did a poor job of protecting the fixture from overheating and malfunctioning.   A well designed LED fixture with quality components doesn't need a fan.

A common problem with LED fixtures squarely lies on the fact that they’re made with cheap parts.  It’s no surprise that this fixture would be prone to corrosion and overheating because of its build quality

So here’s some advice for those who are thinking about the switch to LED Lighting:
Don’t get an LED fixture that has a fan attached to it- it’s a sign of poor quality and design.

Have a great day!!
